Dealing with change and, more importantly, the impact of change is a high priority for all organisations.
This Foundation/Practitioner course on Organisational Change Management is based on the Change Management Body of Knowledge as defined by the Change Management Institute (CMI), an independent, global professional association of change managers. This body of knowledge provides an independent benchmark for the professional knowledge expected of an effective change manager.
The course comprehensively covers both the theory and the practice of change management including:
Accredited by APMG, the course is structured in two modules: a stand-alone Foundation Level (3 days) and a follow-on Practitioner Level (2 days). These can be taken individually or combined. Choose the option that best meets your needs. If you are interested in going to Practitioner level we recommend taking both modules in the one sitting if possible.
The Organisational Change Management course provides critical skills and knowledge for aspiring and practising Change Managers.
The Foundation level is for anyone who wants a sound understanding of Change Management principles and practices. It is ideal for those wanting formal and structured learning in Change Management. On completion, you will be ready to sit the APMG Change Management Foundation exam.
Practitioner level is for anyone with Foundation level knowledge who wants to gain practicing level capability and attain the full certification. It is ideal for those who lead, manage or contribute to the facilitation of change within an organisation. On completion, you will be ready to sit the APMG Change Management Practitioner exam.
Course attendance is suitable for all Change Management roles and Project Managers, Business/Process Analysts, Team Leaders/Supervisors, Senior Managers, IT Professionals and HR Professionals.
The purpose of the Foundation certification is to measure whether you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the Change Management Text and Handbook to act as an informed member of a change management team during a period of change within part or all of your organisation. The Foundation certification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certification.

One of the most frequent questions we get concerns the differences between PROCSI and APMG/CMI certifications.
ALC’s Change Management training comes from APMG and CMI (the Change Management Institute) which are both based in UK. PROSCI is US-based. The two approaches are not really competitors. Rather, they are complementary. They approach the same subject but from a different perspective. In an ideal world people would do both. A similar situation exists with Business Analysis between IIBA in USA and BCS in UK.
ALC recommends the APMG/CMI approach as a more suitable and effective starting point from an organisational perspective, particularly if you have a group of people to be trained.
For a comprehensive assessment of the two approaches we recommend this paper: Change management certification courses from APMG and Prosci®. Which one is right for you?
