What exactly is DevOps?

DevOps refers to a combination of cultural philosophies, practices, and tools designed to increase an organisation’s ability to deliver applications and services at a faster pace than has been possible using traditional processes.

DevOps stresses the building of a culture of collaboration between software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops) – two key areas of IT that have historically functioned in relative siloes.
